ENCINITAS CUP - Gross and Net Stroke-Play 
Encinitas Cup qualifier competitions are generally played on the second Tuesday of each month. The low-gross
and low-net winners qualify to play in the Encinitas Cup Final near the year end. The previous year
champions are automatically eligible to defend their titles. 

 

EVENS - Even holes 2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18 NET.

 

FIELD SHOTS - Count only shots taken in the field; do not count any putts taken on the green.

RINGER - Over the course of five months (February through June & July through November), your best net score
on each hole is added together to create a single 18-hole score. Flights and payouts for each are determined by
the number of participants. 

 

SANDY - (weekly optional buy-in game) 3 ways: 1) Make par or better after escaping from any bunker on the hole; 2) get out of a bunker in one shot and hole your next shot (getting "up and down"); do not have to make par; 3) hole your ball out of the bunker.

 

SHORT AND TALL - 5 shortest holes (2,4,6,12,17) and 4 longest holes (3,9,11,18) NET.

 

T's & F's - Only holes beginning with letters T or F, NET.

 

THREES AND FIVES - Only par 3s and 5s NET.

 

THREE BLIND MICE - Throw out 3 worse holes, NET.

 

T.O.E. - Only the holes beginning with these letters (1,2,3,8,10, 11,12,13,18) NET.

 

TRIPLE TREAT - First 3 holes (1, 2, 3) + middle 3 holes (8,9,10) + last 3 holes (16,17,18) NET.

 

NET - the net score is a player's gross score (the actual number of strokes played) minus the
strokes her playing handicap allows to be deducted during the course of the round per hole.
